Current teaching and research interests

Sarah Byrne-Martelli, MDiv, BCC is the Inpatient Chaplain for the Division of Palliative Care at MGH.  She has worked as a clinical health care chaplain since 2003.  This includes serving as the Palliative Care Chaplain at NYU Langone Medical Center, as well as in Hospice.  Sarah routinely presents at national and local conferences on the topics of quality improvement, end-of-life spiritual care, and the role of spirituality in bereavement.  She leads the annual “Best Chaplaincy Papers” webinar for the Association of Professional Chaplains.  Sarah teaches Advanced Practice Spiritual Care for the CSU Institute for Palliative Care, as well as for the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network.  She has served on the APC/BCCI Board Certification Commission and on the APC Advocacy Commission.
