Alison (“Ali”) Kavanaugh, MSN, ACNP-BC, ACHPN is an acute care nurse practitioner with advanced certification in hospice and palliative nursing. She is fellowship trained in palliative care, and has six years of clinical experience providing subspecialty level palliative care consultation, primarily in the inpatient setting.

Ali has been extensively involved in the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship, first as a fellow and now as part of the fellowship faculty. She has served as a primary mentor for several NP fellows, and teaches didactic sessions for the fellowship each year. Ali has also devoted a great deal of time to teaching primary palliative care to registered nurses throughout MGH.

She recently trained clinicians at several hospitals across the country as part of a multi-site study investigating early integration of palliative care for patients undergoing hemopoietic stem cell transplant.
