Full Boston Children's Hospital social work fellowship descriptions
The pediatric social work fellowship consists of the following rotations:
Inpatient consultation (BCH): 9 months
Ambulatory experience (BCH, DFCI, home visits): 9 months (integrated with inpatient consultation)
Hospice/Pedi Pal rotation (MVH): 1 week
Inpatient Palliative Care Unit/Adult Palliative Care Consult Service (BWH): 1 week
Pediatric long-term care (SHPC): 1 week
Chaplaincy/Child Life (BCH): 1 week
Augmentative Communication (BCH): 1 week
Pain Service/Psych (BCH): 1 week
Elective of interest (TBD): 1 week
Vacation: 4 weeks
Program requirements
- Masters of Social Work degree from an accredited program
- Licensed or eligible for LCSW license in MA
- Experience in hospital social work, palliative care or hospice, and/or having the ability to demonstrate a strong understanding and interest in field preferred
Application requirements
- Transcript from graduate school
- Personal statement describing the applicant's interest in palliative care and commitment to advancing palliative care in the social work field
- Three to five letters of recommendation
- Must be license eligible in Massachusetts
