Pamela Woo Williams works as a palliative care nurse practitioner in the Massachusetts General Hospital Home-based Palliative Care Program. She provides home consults for patients with serious illnesses ranging from frailty to chronic advancing diseases to cancer. Prior to MGH, she worked in primary care geriatrics at the East Boston Neighborhood PACE and at Brigham and Women’s hospital as a floor nurse. Pam received her master’s in nursing at Simmons and has a Biochemistry undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College. Pam has been an NP for about 18 years and has enjoyed teaching graduate nurses at Simmons, precepting students from local schools and now teaching palliative care. She recently participated in research aimed at increasing palliative care access in post-acute care.  In the future, Pam is interested in exploring research in dementia care in the home setting and also increasing wellness within her home-based team. Pam’s additional joys are her 5-year-old son, art, and travel.
