ASPN is not scheduled to run in 2023. Updated information will be provided as soon as possible. We would invite those interested in attending ASPN to register for our Practical Aspects of Palliative Care (PAPC) course.

 

Course description

Palliative care is an essential element of nursing. This two-day course is designed to provide registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses with essential principles and concepts to guide the nursing care of patients and families living with serious and/or life-threatening illness. Expert palliative nurses will teach, using didactic and interactive teaching strategies that foster a community of learning--a course for nurses, by nurses. 

Topics for ASPN 2020 included: 

  • Communication and Advanced Care Planning
  • Pain and Symptom Management 
  • Coordination of Care and Transitions Management
  • Cultivating Resiliency and Reflective Practice

Tuition covers all breaks and course materials. In a continuing effort to “go green,” only an electronic version of the course syllabus will be provided. Refund policy

A handling fee of $75 is deducted for cancellation. Refund requests must be received by email, mail, or fax two weeks prior to the course. No refunds will be made thereafter. No-shows will not receive a refund.

Course location

The Art & Science of Palliative Nursing will be held at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods located at 860 Winter St, Waltham, MA. Complimentary parking is available at the conference center.

We recommend dressing in layers to accommodate variable room temperatures.
