Dr Gallagher joined the MGH Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine in 2014 to develop the Home-Based Palliative Care Program. The goal of the HBPalC Program is to support PCPs in the care of their complex older adults as they neared the end of life. As Medical Director, she oversaw the expansion of the program from 4 MGH primary care practices and one NP to an MGB-wide program with four NPs, and a social worker. She stepped out of her role in 2022 and into the role of Geriatric fellow in the MGH Geriatric Fellowship. Following her fellowship, she joined the Geriatric In-Patient Fracture Trauma Service and continues to service as a Palliative Care attending on the Supportive Care Unit and on the ED Palliative Care Service. Along with her ongoing interest in frailty, bone health and AI in clinical medicine, she will assume the role of Program Lead for the development of a Geriatric Oncology Service in January 2026. |
